Facebook Search

Try a tweaked search engine dedicated to search facebook for more results. Embedded on the right part of the page and this blog entry. Get better results without downloading and upgrading your search engine.

I know you have tried a lot of applications within facebook including programs that are designed in finding friends. They are free to use anyway. But knowing that they are applications, some have nasty bits on it.

Have you experienced something that all of a sudden your homepage is changed? Or there are pop out adverts coming out from nowhere? Or your computer is behaving strangely? Or you are sending explicit or marketing messages to people in your friends area without your knowledge? Chances are you have downloaded a bundled spyware, scareware, or other nasty bits with the nice applications you've tried and tested.

Now, this search engine is tweaked and is a browser based script that does not need installation, You just use it when you need it, and forget it if you do not need it, and it is not like an additional widget that gets a bite on your bandwidth or  computing power. If you have a blog and want a search engine to search a particular page or the whole web and want to have one, feel free to message me and I will be happy to share or create a code.

iPAD Camera Connector Kit

Buy Now!
Got iPAD? It's a nice gadget and on top of the range of tablet devices at the moment. The only let down is it does not support flash videos, no card reader and the memory can not be expanded. It is also a let down when you have photos on your digital camera, which obviously do not have a bluetooth connectivity, and you want to download  to your iPAD!

A gadget solution is at hand that bridges this gap. The iPAD camera connector kit. It handles  SD card and USB cable attached to a camera. It searches for photos and it will be shown on the iPAD's screen for you to choose which one to download into your iPAD. See the device at work below.

Save On International Call

Using BT Line

You don't have to spend a fortune phoning friends who live outside the UK. All you have to do is select which country you want to call (from our list below) and we'll give you an access number that lets you make cheap calls to that country all the time.

Procedure:

1. Scroll to the country you want to call
2. Dial the corresponding access number
3. Dial the complete destination number

Using Monthly Tariff Mobile Phone

We don't bill you either, your normal service provider will. You don't even have to open an account or use a credit card, it's just cheap calls for you at the same rate day or night, every day of the week. Save on international calls by using your existing pay monthly free call allowance .  A call to the US is only 1 pence per minute.  Text BCALL to 80550 and you will receive £5 worth of call, and that means 500 minutes USA calls! Just be sure you have more free minutes allowance!

Procedure:

1. Text BCALL to 80550 for £5 credit
2. You will receive a confirmation text and and a local access number to place your call, which is 0207 124 6666 at the time of this writing.
3.At the prompt enter your destination number including the international code. Dont press send again.

Facebook Application Freezing in iPhone4

This occured twice and I uninstalled and  reinstalled twice, but it keeps coming. Symptom was, when you tap the facebook icon, the page where you can see the menu buttons will show but not one works. The only responsive button is the home button below the screen. While other applications does not freeze.

Usual Suspect and Simple Solution.

Like when I am using a PC or Mac, when I open up many applications and keep them running in the background, all available RAM within the system is used up, and that makes some of the opened applications especially the one that uses more RAM, to slow down or even freezes the whole system. With this in mind I suspected the multitasking feature of the device as the iPhone4's applications are not terminated automatically  when you touch the home button. You need to close them manually! When I checked the iPhone4's opened application I discovered 14 apps running! All buttons that I touched, all games the kids had played, all of the systems native buttons that were tried and opened, were all running!

To terminate the opened applications, double click the home button, this will show the icons of the opened applications, then touch the icon of any of the applications and a minus sign will appear. Touch the minus sign and the application will close! Video is embedded below!

After this simple tweak, facebook application has not encountered any problems yet!
